We believe in solutions tailored specifically to the client's needs. "Cookie-cutter" solutions often don't succeed because each organization is unique: one size does not fit all. We work collaboratively with organizations to design and implement customized solutions that achieve positive, lasting results.

Here is our basic process for collaborating with an organization:

  • Listen to the needs and concerns of the organization, conducting a thorough analysis
  • Provide the organization's leadership with the results of the analysis and a list of options or recommendations
  • With the organization's leadership, jointly develop a customized solution that is owned by the company
  • Implement the solution along with key members of the organization in such a manner that the change will be sustained
  • Measure the results

Leadership Team

Pete Hovde - Bio

Pete Hovde is President of The Possibilities Co.  He has a BAS degree in Business Education and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership.  He has years of management and training experience in the software industry.  He is actively involved as a volunteer with the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, American Society for Training and Development, and several other non-profit and professional organizations.  He has also performed research on “Scanlon” leadership in cooperation with Scanlon Leadership Network of Lansing, MI.  He is a frequent contributor of articles in a number of newsletters and periodicals.

Pete Hovde formed The Possibilities Co. following many years of experience in the healthcare software industry, where he focused on training, management, and staff development.  He managed in a highly participative manner and achieved very positive results in both traditional measures and less tangible, human terms.  Employees flourished under his leadership for a couple of reasons.  First is his

unshakeable belief in each person’s inherent competence.  Second is his persistent drive to understand what is most important to both the organization and the individual, and work toward alignment of missions.

 

Al Strauss - Bio

Before entering the field of human resource development, Al Strauss had over 15 years of software expertise ranging from programming to software process improvement. Combined with his background in process improvement and organizational effectiveness, he has unique insights regarding technology implementations and recognizes that every major technology change needs an accompanying culture change to be successful. 

 

Al holds a Masters of Arts degree in Human Resource Development with a concentration in Organization Development from the University of St. Thomas where he studied under Peter Vaill, one of the world’s leading experts on organizational behavior. Al also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Economics from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
